DRINK WINE!

Supposedly, American scientists have discovered that the short and long-term effects of concussion can be reduced by a compound called 'RESVERATROL' (a component found in red wine!) ...put your drinking-teeth in people, it's about to get ugly!!

For The Flipboard Lovers Out There

Sorry for duplicating the post, I've been having MORE issues, but this time with displaying art on my favourite app Flipboard! apparently the images need to be larger than 120x100 and that one side can't be more than twice as long as the other! SO i hope by sticking them together, this will fix the issue! ...night!

My New Facebook Button

Find and CLICK this in the sidebar on the right and visit me on Facebook! don't be afraid to shake hands with the LIKE button when you're there! ;)

My New Twitter Button

Find this puppy in the right hand sidebar and click away to see all of my most filthy secrets* on twitter! you can always tickle the FOLLOW option when you're done there (i'm so lonely)

*filthy secrets may simply appear as illustrations or the ramblings of a burk

Push The Button...

So, apart from waking up at 5:50 am (usual time for me) and spending far to long deciding if my clock had updated an hour forward, for daylight saving (it had and so was not the usual time for me, at all!), i staggered downstairs to find five pools of luminous green dog sick! i cleared that up, made coffee for my better-half and sat down to work next to my 23lb cat

...and life was good!

good until said cat revealed his entire back end was covered in (and stinking of) his own 'whoopsie'. it was clearly going to be that kind of morning, so i removed all remaining cat-eggs from the litter tray and went outside past the dog (who was being sick again) to empty the dog turd bin. on the way back, i fixed my fence, pruned some bushes and came for a bleach bath and a tetanus jab.

basically, the only work i managed so far was to make these two buttons for this blog, so feel free to find them in the sidebar and wander around my Twitter and Facebook pages. I'll be setting up the website soon, so there'll be another link going up sometime soon!

anyway, I'll work on a small spot illustration for a health mag after I've walked the exorcist-dog and post it here in the morning!

have a good Sunday...i hope it started off better than mine! ;)

Only Me!

Thought i'd get a new profile picture up, but still puzzled over whether to be pleased at how much my girlfriend says this looks me!

Message In A Bottle

This illustration was a pretty useful for me. i have a background that focused on character over narrative, so i thoroughly enjoyed putting this together and crafting the story. i was going for something reminiscent of an old children's book-vibe, with that kind of organised cluttered feel that looks effortless, but in fact isn't! I particularly like the passage of time in this piece, my girlfriend said it made her feel romantic, and my good friend, Martin said he could hear an old sea shanty, so that must be good...right?!

Eating Blueberries Makes Bones Harder...FACT!

This illustration was for an article revealing the purported effects of blueberries on bone density. i discovered a new obsession with fruit crate stickers! ...thanks!

Rubber Stamp

A quick variation on the first design, with the intention of splitting each colour onto two rubber stamps. i imagine these will be used for any THUNDERscrawl mail, but i can easily see myself sitting here, rocking back and forth, squealing hysterically as i thump prints on my legs (and the cat).

Hey! Long Time No See!

SO...it's been a while since i posted anything, and there's not enough space on the web for my excuses, but this marks the start of some new work and a new focus! Anyway, where better to start than with a brand-spanking, new logo (to go with all those other new things!) for those of you who fear change, it's the same theme, but a little more considered, particularly with the pencil/bolt. I've got a bit of a thing for mid-century, cartoon art, Americana, and taxidermy at the moment, so you'll no doubt see their influence pop-up now and again!

...oh, and apologies if the blog looks a bit mental at the moment, I'm sure it will settle down!
